Type of a scam Travel/Vacations

We booked 2 tickets on 04-09-18 with United Airlines. We were SCAMMED! The person taking our reservations had all our information including credit card numbers, dates of travel. We received a confirmation number from airline & Flight Itinerary email to us. The next morning we received a call telling us about a deal United Airlines was offering. We needed to have an American Express gift Card that we would be able to purchase at Walmart, When we received one we had to give them the numbers on cards. Info sent to them. We Needed to purchase $796.00 in cards. We would be refunded $600.00 back. They will send us a Confirmation number that they received them. 04-11-18 we were told it won’t work, Can’t use Gift Cards we needed to go back to Walmart. They will extended time to us to do this again because we have to drive 45 minute to a store to do this again. We were told we needed to get an American Express BlueBird card and send it to them. They will refund the American Express Gift Cards & send a Confirmation number when completed. No information was sent to use at any time. We called the numbers back and received no response from them. Airline was called and our reservation was canceled. Our son who is in the Army is being deployed to Irac. We were going to Texas spend some time with him and see him off. It was going to a hardship financially for us to go. We met with our pastor to pray to find help with getting us there. We thought this was GODS way of helping us. This was believable! Everything looked believable!
