This company contacted me to demand a settlement for a supposed payday loan taken out with an old banking institution I used years ago. They said they would pursue legal action against me if I didn’t rectify the payment via promissory note within 48 hours. I asked them for my SSN to validate their claim- they knew my social security number. However, when telling them my lawyer would be in contact with them, they backpeddaled and said "don’t worry."
