Type of a scam Rental
This scammer called inquiring about a timeshare membership that I own. I immediately told him that I often find these calls to go nowhere due to them always being a scam. He immediately said (of course) that it’s not and they have a corporate customer who wants to rent my timeshare weeks. Of course this is not true, a corporate customer would never do this, nor has it ever been documented that they will. The irony for this one is that I asked him where he was calling from, he said Chicago. I happen to be in town on business – so I told him I would meet him if he gave me his address. I looked up his address and found it’s currently a vacant property with active lease listings. This is without a doubt a scam, one question in this report is "did they ask for money?" – well they haven’t yet, but typically the hook is they need some money to fund an escrow account that will be reimbursed later. Do not fall for this trap please!
