Type of a scam Charity
This number has been calling my cell phone for a while, so I decided to pick up and tell them to stop calling. When I did, the called said she was soliciting donations for childhood cancer research and asked if they could send me a donation sheet. When I said they could send it to me and I would check them out and determine if I would donate, she wanted to know how much I was willing to donate. When I specified an amount, she asked if she could definitely put me down for that amount. I again told her to send me the information, that I would check out the charity, because a lot of scams happen when people call on the phone asking for money. As soon as I said that she said thank you and goodbye, at which point I said, oh so you are a scam. Then she said goodbye and hung up.
