Second place winner. Wanted a fee of 999.16. I told them i did not have money, then they went down to 399.00. They wanted to know if I wanted to be on TV or Radio. Caller stated they were in Greenville, SC. If I don’t send the money they will give the prize to someone else. They stated they will show up at my door with the prizes.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
On July 2, 2015 my 87 year old mother received a call claiming that she won a Mercedes. She was told not to tell anyone until she has the car. To get this prize (from Publishers Clearing House) she will need to get a cashier’s check for $350, and will be called back with what to do with that check.
The call came from 1-256-727-7738. The "very nice gentleman" (Ralph Johnson) told her that to calm any doubts she may have about this award, she needs to call 1-866-996-5997. Which she called. And of course, the prize was confirmed, once she gets them the cashier’s check.
My mom is elderly, confused and really thinks that she won this car. Please help stop this type of scam.
