Type of a scam Online Purchase

I was approached by these people on Instagram through a post that I had made, asking if I would like to be a part of their competition to earn a monthly fee for wearing a sleep mask from their company. I initially asked for more information and they were pushing for me to purchase a sleep mask from them for a total of approximately $30-60, depending on which one you chose. I did not respond, and they continued to message me, seeming to want my business. I received a message from them on July 9th stating "I just spoke with our management and designers and we decided to make an exception for you. Since we like you very much we will offer you a special discount code – Use code OVYSPECIAL100. Use it at the checkout and the mask will be free. What do you say?". Since this sounded fairly reasonable, I decided to look into it on their website and felt that the price for S/H was fair and I didn’t have much to lose. However, it has now been over a month and a half since my initial purchase and I have reached out to them several times asking for more information as to where my mask is. I received a confirmation email after the purchase that told me I would be given a tracking number, but it did not work. I asked them on the 23rd of July why I hadn’t received the mask yet and they told me "Your mask is on the way and hope you will get it soon. Sometimes it just take longer than usual. Please let us know if you don’t receive it in two weeks time. And sorry for the delay". I waited another two weeks, and when I messaged them to let them know that I still had not gotten it, they hardly responded to me and blamed it on the post office for losing the package.

Because of what I experienced, I further looked into their company and reviews to see if anyone else had experienced similar problems and I found that they do not allow people to comment on their photos/posts on Instagram or Facebook, nor do they have a review page on their Facebook. I did some more digging and found one person who said they experienced the same thing as I had, and spoke to them about their experience. I also found that their website phone number matched with another website for a real estate company in Malta.

I am hoping that something is done to alleviate this problem, as I am sure many women have been targeted by them and they have gained much revenue through the "shipping and handling" fees they incur.
