Received a phone call from this group. Follow-up letter says it is a political action committee and therefore not tax deductible. I do not wish to donate to PACs. I won’t send a check, so I am not "victimized."

Asking for pledges to help the veterans, following up with postal mail letter "Sponsor confirmation invoice" but I am unable to verify their identity and the phone number shows up on the internet as the phone number for an entirely different company. I suspect this pledge letter/invoice is a scam and completely fraudulent, it came from National Veterans Committee with a remit to address of PO Box 1490, Brookfield, WI 53008-1490, Phone number 775-886-0791, they claim to be a chartered, nonprofit organization and political action committee dedicated to electing citizens to congress that have pledged to advocate for the veterans that have served our nation.
